課程概述 |
This course aims to introduce students the fundamental concepts of management strategies and techniques. This course assists students to learn various management practices and how such practices might impact on the operation of organizations in the global marketplace. Topics of the course include evolution of management thought, leadership, human resource management and organizational culture. |

On completion of this course a student should be able to:
1. Understand the concept of management
2. Acquire knowledge of various management strategies and techniques
3. Understand the role of organization management to maintain competitiveness in the global marketplace

Group Case Study Presentation |
20% |
Students will form a group of 4 and work on two group assignments: 1) case study presentation; and 2) business plan. <br>
For the case study, students will prepare a 15 minutes presentation on the assigned case study. In preparation for the presentation, students are required to briefly the case background and address the questions stated at the end of the case study. In addition, students are encouraged to read other materials relevant to the case study.

Group Business Plan Assignment |
20% |
For the business plan, students will need to submit a business plan for a proposed product or services. Instruction on how to develop a business plan is available at Appendix of Chapter 8. |
